Officials of the Chisinau City Hall Friday decided that until a final solution is found, the garbage will be taken to a waste dump in Chisinau. It is also located on Uzinelor St, near the Purcel mine. Vice director of the cleanup facility “Autosalubritate” Victor Serghienco has told Info-Prim Neo that the new dump can accommodate the garbage that will be collected during at most a month. The decision was taken in concert with the Geology Institute and the Preventive Medicine Center. The next days, the Anenii Noi district council will come together for a meeting to consider the possibility of storing garbage at the dump in Tantareni in continuation. The residents of Tantareni have blocked access to the local waste dump since January 8. They complain that the dump is a source of infection and it emits an unbearable smell. From last week, the garbage has been taken to a dump situated on Uzinelor St in Chisinau.
