Mayors from 9 suburban localities of the municipality of Chisinau convened in a session at the City Hall of Chisinau on Wednesday, December 3 in order to discuss the financial necessities of the local authorities in 2007 in what concerns the development of the infrastructure in the suburbs. Other 9 mayors will be heard on Thursday. The mayor of Cricova, Valentin Gutan said that the local mayoralty carried out several repairs and changed the doors and windows of a school last year. The House of Culture was repaired and several roads were asphalted. Gutan expressed his hope that he will receive financial resources from the municipal budget in 2007 to continue these works, and also for constructing the illumination networks in a new district with 450 houses. In case the municipality of Chisinau would accept to allot MDL 1 mln for roadworks, the local authorities of Cricova could contribute with the same sum. The budget of Cricova for 2007 constitutes MDL 6.3 mln – incomes, and the same amount of money – expenses. The mayor of Vatra, Igor Caminschi said the locality did not benefit from the support of the municipal budget since 1995 and it managed to survive on its own. The village transfers MDL 3 mln annually to the fund for the support of other villages. Among the priorities of the village in 2007 are to finish the construction of the cemetery, the Youth Centre, 2.5 km of sewerage system and 12 thousand square metres of roadways. Caminschi requested financial aid from the local budget for the construction of the Youth Centre. At the same time, the mayoralty of Vatra asks to administrate the building of the public bath, the construction of which started 15 years ago and which is still not finished. The local authorities might find a company that would invest MDL 5 mln in this project. The proposals of the suburban mayoralties will be analysed and will be taken into consideration when distributing the money planned for investments in the suburban localities. The interim Mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu said that the financial resources will be allotted depending on the possibilities of each village and the efforts of each mayoralty. According to Ursu, the municipality of Chisinau could be provided with financial means by the state. In the program presented to the Government, the City Hall solicits MDL 800 mln. “We are positive that MDL 300 mln will be allotted”, Vasile Ursu said. According to the administration of the city, the majority of the public projects that are implemented in the suburbs of the municipality will be finished in 2007. MDL 30 mln were offered from the municipal budget for the implementation of the projects in 2006. MDL 50 mln more are necessary to finish them.
