The divisions of the municipality will present progress reports by the end of each Friday. An ordinance to this effect was formulated by Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca at Monday’s City Hall meeting, with a view to improving the efficiency of the civil servant’s work. The reports are expected to be brief. They will be published on the City Hall’s web page. The housing department is to produce reports on a daily basis, in view of the preparations of the housing sector for the cold season. In addition, the mayor requested that the activity agenda of all the City Hall’s and City Council’s divisions and agencies be made public as soon as possible. Dorin Chirtoaca pointed out that his decision is by no means a tool of pressure on the civil servants, but a way to encourage them to work better. In the mayor’s opinion, a higher level of transparency in the activity of the municipal authorities will fortify the credibility of the institution, increasing its chances of getting international financing for some important projects for the city.
