The Chisinau City Hall announces a municipal contest with the deadline set at 20 March, 2007, for working out the concept of placing monuments in the central zone of Chisinau municipality. In this regard, it is suggested to study the historical-architectural-cultural patrimony sited between A. Puskin - Columna - Serghei Lazo - 31 August streets, proposing concrete solutions to the placement of monuments and sculptural compositions. The concept must include a sculptural composition dedicated to the county’s flag, which will be placed on the axis of the Parliament’s building, and create a unique municipal ensemble, including alleys. The contest will be held under the patronage of the Moldovan President, Painters’ Union, Architects’ Association, Architects’ Union and interim mayor of Chisinau. The contest will be organised by the architecture, urbanism and land relations Division, and culture Division of Chisinau Municipal Council. There was also designated the composition of the jury of the Municipal Contest for working out the concept of placing monuments in the central zone of Chisinau municipality and drawn up the estimates regarding its organisation. The Prize I will be of 75,000 lei, Prize II – 45,000 lei, and Prize III – 25,000 lei. The estimate of expenditures also envisages the means for preparing informative materials for coverage and consultation with the citizens and project’s examination.
