City councilmen request Termocom to give heat to all consumers

The Moldova Noastra Alliance faction in the Chisinau City Council urges the Council not to pay the heat distributor Termocom the money owed for covering part of the heating-related expenses unless the company gives heat to all the recipients of district heating. The leader of the AMN faction, Oleg Cernei, stated at the recent meeting of the Council that the 16 million lei that it planned to transfer to Termocom must not be disbursed until the distributor changes its attitude towards the consumers. He expressed much indignation at the fact that some residential blocks in the city are not connected to the heating system even though they cleared their debts at almost 100 percent. All the residents of the city must get heat, said Cernei, adding “we have kept our promises, we didn’t lower the charge, and we transferred 33 million lei more to clear the debt. We urge Termocom to refrain from using the situation for political purposes. In the end, ordinary people will be those to suffer most”. So far the City Council paid Termocom a total of 125 lei to settle the debt. Earlier this week, Termocom said it would not connect the indebted blocks until they have entirely cleared the debts. Otherwise, the heat distributor complained it would not be able to honour its liabilities to heat generators and keep a proper level of heat supply in the current heating season.
