The citizens who registered on compensatii.gov.md will be informed about the energy vulnerability category into which they were fell as from today, November 30. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, 70% of the families that filed applications for subsidies will fall into the very high energy vulnerability category, IPN reports.

“The information system “Energy Vulnerability” did the calculations. The last procedural checks are carried out to make sure that these were done correctly. Preliminary data show that over 70% of those who registered and filed applications on compensatii.gov.md will be put into the maximum vulnerability category. These are the most vulnerable ones. It goes to 70% of the 700,000 households that registered,” Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari stated in the program “Résumé with Ileana Pîrgaru” on RliveTV channel.

The minister said the population is very susceptible to the rise in the price of energy in general and the platform showed that the largest part of the families cannot afford to pay the bills if they are not offered subsidies. “This year, the system targets much better those who are very vulnerable and cannot pay their bills. The very high energy vulnerability category includes the families that, after paying a minimum consumer basket of food and hygiene products of about 3,500 lei per person and approximately 2,400 lei for the next persons from the household, remain without money to pay the energy bills. The number is high – about half a million families,” explained the minister.

The families that didn’t register on the platform compensatii.gov.md will be automatically added to the average vulnerability category in November, but will be paid subsidies for the low energy vulnerability category for December 2022 – March 2023.

After the authorities set the size of subsidies for the cold period, it was decided to increase the highest subsidized amount of electricity for the consumers connected only to the supply of power.
