The citizens of 33 states will not need to apply for visas to cross the state border of the Republic of Moldova. A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet on January 17, IPN reports.
These are states from South America, Central America and Asia that have a liberalized visa regime with the European Union at present.
Seven states of the 33 already unilateral annulled the obligation to hold entry visas for Moldovan citizens. The Moldovan authorities intend to initiate discussions with the other states to obtain the abrogation of visa requirements for Moldovan citizens.
The free movement of people facilitates the interaction between businessmen, creates preconditions for increasing the export of goods and for developing the tourist and cultural potential of the country.
The document will be submitted to Parliament for consideration.
