Citizens can receive documents by mail

Fourteen identification documents can be delivered directly at home, through the agency of post offices, at people’s request. The new method of delivering documents enables the recipient to save time and money required when travelling to the district center to take these documents, IPN reports.

In a communiqué, the ICT Ministry says such a service became possible as a result of the cooperation between the State Information Recourses Center “Registru” and Moldova’s Post Office. Initially, this service enabled delivering only the identity card and the passport by mail.

The service costs 10 lei. Trough the 1,148 post offices of the country, the extended delivery service allows distributing the following ordered documents: the identity card; certificate showing that the identity card was issued; the passport; certificate showing that the passport was issued; certificate confirming the registration at the place of residence; certificate confirming the settling abroad; certificate confirming the ethnicity; certificate confirming the nationality; certificate confirming the submission of application to renounce the nationality; the driver’s license; the vehicle registration certificate; certificate concerning vehicle ownership; certificate concerning possession of the driver’s license; results of inspections to determine possibility of registering the vehicle and issuing documents to drivers, if the originals of the registration certificate and driver’s license are lost or damaged.

The extended document delivery service was launched on August 1.
