CIS to be reformed
A program on reforming the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was discussed by the heads of state of CIS member countries at the non-formal Summit that took place during July 21-22. The Reform of the CIS was proposed by the president of Kazahstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev.
According to the draft, the cooperation within the CIS will be based on three strategic directions: migration policy, transportation, education and science, humanitarian field. Summit’s Participants agreed to analyze the proposed principles within member countries. At the next Summit of the CIS, in November 2006, the activity concept will be discussed and then adopted.
In the end of the Summit, the president Vladimir Voronin attended, together with other heads of state the horse races for the Cup of the President of the Russian Federation, which took place at the central racetrack in Moscow, informs a press release of the Presidency, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
