People in the village of Cioresti, Nisporeni district, are expected on Sunday, August 7, at the polling station to elect their mayor in a repeat run-off, Info-Prim Neo reports. The outcome of the first attempt to hold the run-off was invalidated by court, after fake ballots were found in Vulcanesti village, a component unit of Cioresti. The outcome was also contested because the polling booths missed their frontal curtains, according to Ion Spinu, the head of the Cioresti Election Council. The same two candidates will compete in the repeat run-off: Liberal Democrat Valeriu Gutu and Democrat, Xenia Axente.
