A fire occurred on Friday afternoon, March 11, in an apartment in Ciocana. A 60 year old man died in the fire. Liliana Puscasu, press officer of Civil Protection and Exceptional Situations Service, told Info-Prim Neo the fire started at about 1 PM, in an apartment on the 10th floor of a block on Voluntarilor Street in Chisinau. Firefighters used two fire trucks and the turntable ladder to prevent fire from expanding to other apartments. The cause of the fire is yet to be established. According to Liliana Puscasu, neighbors claims the deceased man was bedridden and lived with his daughter and two grandsons. His son-in-law, which had gone abroad, returned and went out with the family. The man was left alone and neighbors think the fire could have started from a cigarette. Moreover, they say the man had once lit the curtains.
