Cineastes’ Union of Moldova instituted the award „Emil Loteanu”

The Cineastes’ Union of Moldova (UCM) instituted this year the cinematography award „Emil Loteanu”, in memory of the late Moldovan renowned producer. The award will be given to the best Moldovan Cinema production of the last two years, within the „Cronograf” documentary movie awards festival. The president of UCM, Eugen Sobor, declared, on Monday, May 29 at a press conference that instituting this award refers to a recent decision of the council of the Cineastes’ Union, which will award, every two years the best cinematographic work: documentary, fiction or animation. The chairman of the jury, Mihai Poiata declared that for the Moldovan Cineastes this award means not only paying respect to the memory of the great artist but it is also a contribution for the revival of the national cinematography. The award has a value of 5 thousand lei. In the future, the awards are possible to take place within a special festivity, other than the „Crongraf” awards Festivity.
