Cigarette smuggler caught near border with Ukraine

Border guards foiled a man from Causeni district in his attempt to smuggle 93,000 packs of cigarettes from Moldova into Ukraine, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Border Guard Service, the 32-year-old man was driving a tractor without a license plate. The vehicle was towing a trailer where there were cigarettes of different brand names. The tractor was heading for the border with Ukraine, towards the Ukrainka-Chervanoe road.
The border guards stopped the tractor for a check and found 164 boxes with 93,000 packs of cigarettes in the trailer. The man was arrested for attempting to smuggle contraband in very large quantities.
