Church in style of those build by Stephan the Great erected in Chisinau

A wooden church similar to those built by Stephan the Great is being constructed in Chisinau in memory of composer and priest Mihail Berezovschi. It is erected in the court of the lyceum that bears his name. The bishop of the future church said the building is constructed with money donated by parishioners, without the financial support of the central or local authorities, IPN reports.

The church includes a basement where there will be built several rooms for mothers with babies. “At least two rooms will be designed especially for these mothers as when the children are hungry we cannot stop the service, but cannot also not allow the mother to go out with the child. The rooms will be situated inside the church. They will be outfitted with a wardrobe, a table and a bed,” said priest Vasile.

There will be also erected two balconies that will lead to two open boxes and a room for keeping things donated by parishioners. “We will also have a mini-library, where there will be a corner where the parishioners will be able to confess their sins in private,” stated the priest.

Within the same lyceum, the Chisinau Municipal Council decided to open a philanthropic and moral-spiritual education center. “At this center, we will have a bigger library, an exhibition hall, a historic and patriotic museum, a social eatery, a social laundry and a Sunday School that will be available to all those who will want to take part,” said priest Vasile.

The money for building the church has been collected from donations made by parishioners since 2010.
