Chronograph 2017 to present 21 films made on three continents

Sixteen full-length documentaries and five short documentaries made on three continents have been selected at the Main section of the 14th International Documentary Film Festival Chronograph, IPN reports.

Several films of the program of the Main section center on family relations in difficulty. Bezness as Usual is about the exploring of roots and was selected at the Toronto Film Festival and Locarno Film Festival. Dead Ears is a meditation on the father and son relationship, while A Marriage Story, directed by the Czech producer Helena Třeštíková, followed during 35 years the volatility of a family relationship.

Chronograph 2017 brings also two portrait documentaries - Wim and Belle de Nui – and two documentaries about the destiny of women in different corners of the world - A Bastard Child and Ama-San.

Among other documentaries are 16 Years till Summer, Normal Autistic Film, Third Class Travel, When Will This Wind Stop, Village People, Secondo Me, Thunder Feast, and Touch of an Angel.

The jury of the Main section consists of five members and is headed by Moldovan actor Valeriu Andriuta.

The five short documentaries that will compete in the Main section are: Joe’s Violin (U.S.), which was nominated for Oscar 2016, Women+ (Russia), The PE Teacher, the Gold and the River (Kyrgyzstan), ALG-MRS (France), and May 23 (Spain).

The screenings in the Main section will take place during May 26-29 in the second half of the day. Tickets cost 50 lei each. Access to the sections A LIKE for a DOCUMENTARY, Local Productions and CRONOGRAF Junior is free.
