Christmas vacation will last five days

The days of January 6, May 2 and December 25 and 26, 2014 will be considered nonworking days for which employees will work instead on January 11, May 17 and December 13 and 20, 2014, IPN reports, quoting a decision on nonworking days next year, approved by the Government.

This year, December 25, when it is celebrated Christmas according to the new calendar, is also a nonworking day. Employees will work for it on December 14, 2013.

Next year, the salary earners will have one nonworking day more – January 6 – in addition to January 7 and 8, when Christmas is observed according to the old calendar. Thus, together with January 4 and 5, which fall on Saturday and Sunday, the Christmas vacation will be of five days.

Earlier, the executive announced that it will propose a legislative amendment by which December 25 to be declared a nonworking day officially. For now, there are approved relevant Government decisions.
