The Christmas tree in central Chisinau this year will be adorned not with baubles and festoons, but with LED lighting systems. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said he wants a tree in a minimalist style. Everyone is invited to submit proposals in the form of pictures or videos to the City Hall by November 25, Info-Prim Neo reports. Dorin Chirtoaca recommended the Green Areas Association and the lighting company Lumteh to lend the baubles and festoons used to decorate the Christmas tree of Chisinau to the mayor’s office of Bozieni village, Hancesti, from where the fir tree will be brought this year. “They will be glad to have something special, while we will be gladdened by the fir tree,” said the mayor. He stressed that Christmas decorations will be also put on the main streets of the suburban settlements. The decorative lights will start to burn on December 1.
