Unlike the previous years, when the Christmas tree installed in the Great National Assembly Square was bought from Moldovan owners, this year the fir tree was purchased from Ukraine, IPN reports.
According to the Chisinau City Hall, the tree was bought from Yaremche city of Ivano-Frankivsk province of Western Ukraine for 15,000 lei and will be set up in the central square of Chisinau until this weekend.
The fir tree is about 29 meters in height and is by about 5 meters higher than the trees installed the previous years.
