The Christmas Market in the central square of Chisinau will be open until the end of January. Until then, the holiday decorations, including the Christmas Tree, will be there, the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban announced in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

“The holidays passed, but it snowed nicely, as it hadn’t snowed in the last five years perhaps. And this holiday atmosphere still persists. Not only children, but also adults rejoice. There are visitors during the day, but more visitors are there till late in the evening and on weekends. Yesterday there were a lot of people there and this can only make us happy,” stated the mayor.

The start of the winter holidays in the Great National Assembly Square was given on December 23, when the Christmas Market was inaugurated and the lights on the Christmas Tree were turned on. In the period, various activities, concerts were staged in the central square of Chisinau, including New Year’s Eve and Christmas celebrated according to the old style. Traditionally, the decorations and the Christmas Trees are taken away after January 14.
