Workers of the Green Areas Association installed almost ten meters of the frame of the future Christmas tree in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau. The tree was donated to the municipality by a company that produces artificial trees. The construction has a conical form and will be 20 meters in height. The laying out works are to be completed by December 5, when the winter holidays will be officially opened in Chisinau, IPN reports.

The workers said the other half of the frame will be installed in the first half of Tuesday and in the afternoon they will attach the branches made from polychlorinated vinyl that imitate the natural fir tree. The works will be completed on time so that the Christmas tree could be inaugurated on Wednesday evening.

The construction can be used for seven-eight years and can be then renewed by using the old structure and by modifying the decorations only. The municipality will allocate 90,000 lei for building the base of the fir tree that will be 3 meters in height. The tree will be 17 meters high without the base. A sum of 200,000 lei will be allocated from the municipal budget for decorating the tree, while 170,000 lei will go to set up the holiday lighting.
