Christmas fair will not be opened in central Chisinau this year
The traditional fair of Christmas decorations, souvenirs, artificial fir trees and clothes will not be set up in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau this year. Only pies, cakes and hot drinks will be sold in the square from December 20.
Valentina Constantinov, deputy head of the General Trade, Public Food and Services Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that the traditional fair that was staged the previous years will not be opened in Chisinau’s central square, only in districts, because the given products are not so popular anymore. The markets and shopping centers are full of such goods.
The Division’s deputy head also said that the fair was mounted because the previous years the shops did not provide so many goods of such a variety.
According to Valentin Constantinov, they also considered the appearance of the capital city’s center as there is not really a holiday atmosphere when there are so many booths there. Instead, until January 14 there will be sold cakes, pies, tea, coffee and boiled wine.
