The Christmas Caravan of the Foundation “Clipa Siderala” this year again will take candies and presents to children from boarding schools and socially deprived families in the country’s districts. The fifteenth caravan sets off on December 14, as the previous years, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on December 7, volunteer Veronica Solomitski said there will be visited over 2,500 children from 21 settlements, including nine boarding schools, a vocational school, a detention center for minors, three rehabilitation centers and seven rural schools. There will be also staged two contests - “Moment of Talents” for children from boarding schools and socially underprivileged families, and “MY Caravan” that will involve children of Chisinau schools. The winners will receive diplomas, candies and money awards. Another volunteer Alla Donosian said companies and kindhearted people can become involved in the event. The participants are able to personally give presents to the children. Valentina Cujba, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said children from Chisinau schools prepared an artistic program and will also take sweets and toys to children from boarding schools. The organizers call on the people of good faith to join in. Those who want can donate school supplies, candies, clothes and other things for children. During December 14 - December 23, the bus of the Caravan will travel through Moldova’s villages every day. It will set off from the Great National Assembly Square at 9am, except Sunday. The Foundation “Clipa Siderala” has organized the Christmas Caravan since 1997.
