Chisinau's Trolley Company sued for historical debts
Chisinau's Trolleybus Company is sued for historical arrears of 13 million lei it owes to the state-run “Moldtranselectro”.
Moldtranselectro ceded the debt to another company, which now wants the money back, Veaceslav Tarna, the head of the Transport Direction told the City Hall's sitting on Monday.
The trial has been on for a year, as the cession contract was canceled. “The City Hall won the first trial and the things seemed to go legally for a while. However later they changed up their minds and attack the City Hall again,” Tarna said.
According to general mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, the trial is nothing but a new attempt to bring the City Hall to insolvency. “When it's a question of 1 million euros, as we are in Moldova, I understand why this happens. 13 million lei means making the Trolleybus Company unable to run, as this happened a couple of months ago. Now it's the same, only in another form,” the mayor is quoted Info-Prim Neo as saying.
Dorin Chirtoaca has said “resuming the trial by revision application, when there is a valid decision of the higher court, means nothing but an indirect method to press the company, the Transport Direction and, respectively, the Municipality's City Hall.” “This is done to empty the municipal budget, so that we cannot implement other projects.”
Veaceslav Tarna has told Info-Prim Neo the court session scheduled for September 8 was postponed to 27 September.
