The Public Amenities Directorate has received fifty grass trimmers and thirty leaf blowers to distribute among Chisinau’s districts in order to facilitate clean-up.
Directorate head Vasile Efros has told IPN the new grass trimmers will be used in the public spaces that are not under the control of the Green Spaces municipal agency or apartment blocks.
The municipality spent some 240,000 lei to buy the 50 trimmers.
The leaf blowers will be used especially in the autumn when fallen foliage accumulates, but also to collect debris at trolleybus and bus stops.
Vasile Efros said that pickup trucks will also be bought in June to assist clean-up efforts.
