A woman aged 28 was injured from a pneumatic gun when she was walking together with her husband in Ciocana district of Chisinau in the evening of March 10. According to the police, the shot was fired by a young man who was having fun with a friend of his on a third-floor balcony.

The incident happened on Petru Zadnipru St. The woman was injured in the right temple. Fortunately, the wound wasn’t penetrative. Doctors gave the woman first aid and recommended ambulatory treatment for her.

Contacted by IPN, head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir said the culprit was arrested. This is a 21-year-old man from Cahul, who was on a visit to a friend. He said he didn’t aim the gun at the woman and the bullet hit her accidentally.

The young man faces three to seven years in jail for hooliganism. No permit is required for pneumatic guns. Such guns can be bought without presenting particular documents.
