Chisinau will propose Tiraspol to hold joint religious ceremony

The Reintegration Office will suggest the Transnistrian side to organize joint activities to commemorate the persons who died in the armed conflict on the Nistru. The Office’s head Gheorghe Balan said they will propose holding a joint religious ceremony in memory of those killed in the war. He made the statement in the meeting of the governmental commission for organizing and holding events dedicated to 20 years of the start of the war for defending Moldova’s integrity and independence, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Prime Minister Mihail Moldovanu said the proposal was submitted a little late, but will be discussed and if the Transnistrian side accepts it, there will be agreed the common activities. On February 22, the OSCE Mission to Moldova encouraged joint events to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Transnistrian conflict. A similar address was made on February 16 by representatives of the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine to the Joint Control Commission. On March 2, there will be held numerous events on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the start of the Nistru war of 1992.
