Chisinau will celebrate 65 years since end of World War II

The Government constituted an organizational committee and approved the program of activities for marking 65 years since the end of the Second World War, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Prime Minister Ion Negrei was named chairman of the organizational committee that includes representatives of different ministries, the president of Teleradio-Moldova Company Constantin Marin, the vice president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Mariana Slapac and heads of veterans organizations. The program of activities includes restoration of monuments and laying out of military cemeteries, cleaning of the adjoining areas, a festival of military songs, exhibitions of books and documents, sports competitions, radio and TV programs involving war veterans. A scientific conference centering on the 65th anniversary of the end of the Second World War will be held at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in April. Flowers will be laid at the memorial complex "Eternitate" and other military monuments and cemeteries on May 9.
