The water utility Apa-Canal Chisinau is urging those with overdue debts to pay up as soon as possible or face consequences, which include forfeiture and travel restrictions, Info-Prim Neo reports. The utility said in a press release that since the beginning of the year it has obtained in court 469 payment enforcement orders and 183 of them have already been enforced. 153 of them were issued against residential consumers, 16 against commercial consumers, and 14 against managers of apartment buildings. As a result, the utility managed to recover a total debt of 1.4 million lei. The enforcement of the remaining 286 orders is underway. As a result, the water utility expects to recover a debt of more than 14 million lei. Most of the consumers involved are asking for debt rescheduling arrangements.
