Chisinau warns about 'abusive actions' by Transnistrian law-enforcement

The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) has warned about “abusive actions” taken by the Transnistrian de facto law-enforcement authorities in the Security Zone, saying that they were not coordinated with the JCC.

The delegation said in a press release that the de facto authorities extended “in an illegal and uncoordinated manner” the infrastructure of the so-called migration customs and border checkpoints

Further, the registration procedure for migration purposes has been made more complicated, limiting the period of stay in the Transnistrian region to 90 days.

The Moldovan delegation also accuses the de facto authorities of obstructing military observers from visiting the sites of incidents and also of blocking access, by digging ditches, to farmland near the villages of Dorotcaia and Pohrebea in Dubasari district.

As the parties were unable to reach middle ground on theses issues, the JCC co-chairman on behalf of Russia postponed the discussion until the next meeting.
