Chisinau wants to connect Varnita, Copanca and other localities to its energy system

Chisinau wants to connect Varnita and Copanca to its energy system. At present, the villages receive power from the Transnistrian system and also face disconnections from the electricity, the regional press reports.

Contacted by IPN, the acting head of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, confirmed this information, noting that there is a decision of the Exceptional Situations Commission. "It is not only about Varnita and Copanca, but also about other localities, including in the districts of Causeni, Dubasari, etc., where there are similar problems with the supply of natural gas and electricity", Vadim Ceban said.

At the same time, Vadim Ceban confirmed that the localities of Cosnita, Pohrebea, Dorotcaia and Pirita in Dubasari district, which are under the constitutional control of Chisinau, are currently supplied with gas, even though the four localities are connected to the energy infrastructure on the left bank of the Dniester. Gas supplies are based on a protocol signed between Tiraspoltransgaz, Vestmoldtransgaz and Moldovagaz at the end of last year. Thus, as long as there are reserves in the main pipelines, the localities are supplied.
