Chisinau Trolleybus Company seeks higher trolleybus fares
The Chisinau Electric Transport Company will demand that the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) raise the trolleybus fare from 1 leu to 1.5 lei.
If the councilors do not approve the rise, the municipal company will not be able to cover all the costs incurred, said its director Gheorghe Morgoci.
“It would be just right if the fares are increased from June 1 this year,” Morgoci has told Info-Prim Neo.
“The price of electric power grew by 30%. This means that the cost price of a trip also increased. It is 1.48 lei at the moment. We will sustain huge losses if the fare remains the same,” Morgoci said.
“If trolleybus fare is raised, we will be able to pay for electric power, pay salaries to the company’s employees in time and purchase the things we need to work,” Morgoci added.
Earlier, a number of employees of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company complained that they have to take forced leave without being paid indemnities. They said their salaries were cut by several hundred lei. The company’s administration denied it.
