The Chisinau City Hall will have to negotiate an additional contract with the administration of Anenii Noi district in order to be able to dispose of the city's garbage at the landfill near Tintareni village, after the Anenii Noi District Council on December 30 conditioned the access to the landfill on certain amenities for the residents of the village, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Chisinau Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu, the mayor of Tintareni at first objected to the extension of the waste disposal agreement for a period of three years, but later agreed to negotiate. Earlier amenities offered in 2010 by Chisinau to Tintareni included the installation of a water pipeline and roadworks, to a total amount of 5 million lei. Additional amenities that will be offered in exchange for the agreement's extension include other public works, like the planting of a wooded area in the lower part of the landfill. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the waste management agency Autosalubritate to continue the dialogue with the local authorities in order to prevent any disruption in the city's waste disposal service. The additional contract with Tintareni is expected to be signed in February.
