Two sports events will take place in Chisinau on April 6 and 7. These are the Chisinau Swimming Cup and the Spring Starts running race of 500 m, 1.5 km, 6 km in the junior, youth, senior and veteran categories, IPN reports.

According to the Chisinau City Hall, the Chisinau Swimming Cup will be held on April 6 and 7 at the pool of the Sports School for Children and Juniors No.11, located at 57 Alecu Russo St.

The competition will involve athletes (boys and girls) of sports schools, Theoretical Sports Lyceum no. 2, sports associations and clubs of Chisinau and also guests from other localities of the Republic of Moldova, who practice swimming. More than 300 athletes are expected to take part.

The program starts at 08.15 on April 6 with the warm-up of the competitors. The official opening of the event is at 08.45 and the start of the competition is at 09.00. The warm-up continues at 14.00 and the competition starts at 15.00 it. The next day, April 7, the warm-up begins at 09.00 and the start is at 10.00.

The Spring Starts running race of 500 m, 1.5 km, 6 km, (juniors, youth, seniors and veterans), will take place on April 6 in the Rest Area of “Valea Trandafirilor “ Park (around the lake).

According to the municipality, athletes of sports associations and clubs, Specialized Athletics Sports School No. 3, the Specialized Athletics Sports School of the Ministry of Education and Research, the Municipal and National Sports High Schools, veterans, guests from other localities of the Republic of Moldova are expected to contend in the race.

The event opens officially at 10.50 and the start of the race is at 11.00.
