The Summit of Nordic-Baltic Speakers (NB-8) will be held in Chisinau on May 12-14. Such an event will take place in Moldova for the first time, IPN reports, quoting the Parliament’s press service.
The summit’s program includes meetings with Head of Parliament Igor Corman, Deputy Speakers Liliana Palihovici, Andrian Candu and Oleg Bodrug, and with the leaders of the parliamentary groups. The NB-8 Speakers will also discuss with the head of state, the Premier and with representatives of civil society.
The Heads of Parliament of the Nordic-Balti States will take part in public debates entitled “European Parliament and the national parliaments – guarantors of European democracy” with students of the State University of Moldova. At the end of the visit to Chisinau, the NB-8 Speakers will visit the renovated Parliament Building and will plant trees in front of it. Igor Corman and the NB-8 Speakers will give a joint news conference at the Palace of the Republic on May 13.
The Summit of Nordic-Baltic Speakers is staged in Chisinau on the initiative of Igor Corman. It will involve the Speakers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway.
