Different sports events, such as taekwondo, fighting, tennis, laser tag, fencing, karate, basketball and badminton, will be staged in the central square of Chisinau on May 19 as part of the annual Olympic Fest, IPN reports.
The organizers said the event is intended for everyone, regardless of sports skills, age or occupation. Everyone is invited to celebrate the Olympic values. “During a day, the Great National Assembly Square will become a “carnival” of sports. The participants will be able to take part in different sports events alongside the best athletes and coaches,” it is said in the organizers’ press release.
According to the InfoTrafic service, in connection with the planned events, the central square of Chisinau in the perimeter of the streets Banulescu Bodoni and Pushkin will be closed to traffic from 4am on May 19. Traffic will be diverted to adjoining streets.
Starting at 10am, parts of the streets Stefan cel Mare, V. Alecsandri, Bucuresti and Sfatul Tarii will be inaccessible to traffic due to a running race.
From 5pm until midnight, the section of 31 august St between the streets Banulescu Bodoni and Pushkin will be closed to traffic in connection with the Night of Museums.
