A national forum of teachers will be staged in Chisinau in the first half of October to sum up the results of teachers’ conferences and to debate the education development strategy 20/20, IPN reports.

According to Minister of Education Maia Sandu, teachers’ conferences at local level will be organized until the end of September. In the October forum, the teachers will be able to communicate the problems they identified and to consider solutions.

“The ensuring of the quality of studies for economy and the career is one of the main directions of the education development strategy 20/20. The Education Ministry’s team is now working on the strategy,” said Maia Sandu. The main elements of the strategy will center on the students and their social and professional development. The students will obligatorily study two foreign languages – English and another one. Knowledge of the Romanian language for other-language speakers and the formation of entrepreneurial and digital competences will also be mandatory.

The national teachers’ forum will involve representatives of education institutions from all the country’s regions.
