Chisinau to host meeting of Moldovan-Romanian municipal councilors

The first common meeting of councilors of the municipalities of Chisinau and Bucharest will take place in Chisinau on January 15. The councilors are to approve an additional cooperation agreement to the Twinning Protocol signed by the Chisinau City Hall and the Bucharest City Hall, IPN reports.

Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said such an arrangement was reached following his working visit to Bucharest and the visit made by the deputy mayor of Bucharest Aurelian Bădulescu to Moldova’s capital city last month. “Together with the colleagues from the neighboring country, at 09:15am on January 15 we will lay flowers to the bust of poet Mihai Eminescu on the Classics Alley in the Public Garden “Stephan the Great”. Later, starting at 10:00, there will be held a meeting at the CMC that will involve Bucharest municipal councilors,” stated the mayor.

The meeting will center on projects that are to be implemented by a concerted effort. “It is the first meeting of the kind. We want this cooperation to be developed. Each working visit we make to other towns will end with a higher number of nice results for Chisinau,” said Ion Ceban.
