Chisinau to host international workshop on navigation satellite systems

An international workshop centering on the implementation of GPS (global positioning system) technologies in transport and communication, aviation, management of natural resources and emergencies, agriculture and other fields will take place in Chisinau between May 17 and 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. The event is organized with the support of the United Nations, the United States and the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems. According to the director general of the Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre Vasile Grama, the workshop aims to ensure experience and information exchange in the border areas and encourage international cooperation, including within regional positioning systems. Eighty delegates have confirmed that they will be participating in the event. Half of them are foreign scientists and experts, representatives of the nongovernmental sector and international organizations, leaders in satellite poisoning systems. The Government decided to allocate 222,700 from its reserve fund for co-financing the event.
