The relations with Chisinau are now tenser than ever, said the political representative of Tiraspol Nina Shtanski, accusing the constitutional authorities of unilateral actions. On the other hand, Chisinau’s political representative Eugen Carpov said the relations are tense because Tiraspol refuses to hold the dialogue in the agreed formats. The two officials had a meeting at the head office of the OSCE Mission in Chisinau on September 19, IPN reports.
Eugen Carpov told the journalists after the meeting that Tiraspol didn’t change its position on the next round of talks in the 5+2 format, which was postponed the third time owing to the refusal of the Transnistrian delegation to take part in the dialogue. Tiraspol also suspended the meetings between the Moldovan Prime Minister and the Transnistrian leader.
Eugen Carpov also said that the Transnistrian side resorts to unilateral acts, trying to set up a customs post not far from the airdrome in Tiraspol. “We asked for explanations and they told us that they will present their arguments in the next meeting,” stated the Deputy Prime Minister. He added that the farmers from the left bank of the Nistru were given to cultivate 300 hectares of land that was earlier distributed to farmers from the right bank.
Nina Shtanski said that 102 farmers from the right bank already signed agreements with the local administration, being thus allowed to cultivate the farmland situated between Rybnitsa and Dubasari. The right side does not have rights of ownership over the land from the Transnistrian region and thus the farmers from the right side must sign lease contracts with the Transnistrian authorities to be able to cultivate it.
As to the use of radio frequencies, Nina Shtanski said the experts reached deadlock. The next round of discussions was scheduled for October 6 and will involve experts from both sides and the political representatives. She noted that the relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol are tense owing to the actions of the constitutional authorities. She demanded that they refrain from using the frequencies from near Transnistria so as not to cause a new telephone war.
