The suburban facilities that need investment for renovation could be financed from a municipal suburb support fund the next year, the Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca informed on Monday, September 29. According to the mayor, such a measure is designed to bring equilibrium between the city and suburbs. “The projects will be probably different for every settlement apart and will have different budgets,” the mayor said. The aqueduct that supplies drinking water to a part of the residents of Sangera town and the entire Revaca village as well as the kindergarten in Sangera and Alexandru cel Bun High School, which does not have a gymnasium, could be high on the list of priorities. The mayor stressed that the kindergarten works in improper conditions. The mayor of Sangera Ghenadie Iurco said that they appealed to the Government of Moldova and to potential investors to help solve the problem of drinking water, but no money was found. “The technical project for building the aqueduct has been drawn up. All the necessary documents are in place. The works are assessed at 11 million lei,” Iurco said, stressing that the local mayor’s office cannot solve this problem by itself. Among other priorities are the construction of a bridge that would connect the two parts of Ghidighici village instead of the old and flimsy bridge and the renovation of the house of culture of the village. In 2009, it will be 40 years of the opening of the house of culture. The list of facilities will be compiled until the budget for 2009 is approved. The municipal suburb support fund will be created if the Chisinau Municipal Council, which manages the municipal money, accepts the proposal.
