The new deputy mayor of the capital city Lucia Culev launched a campaign to involve students from Chisinau preuniversity education establishments in manufacturing rubbish bins from auxiliary materials. The bins made from chocolate boxes, cases and other ornamental materials will replace the traditional refuse bins where there are no such – in yards, in parks, in schools and kindergartens. They will be used until the City Hall purchases the necessary number of industrial bins. The works of the students will be assessed by a special commission formed of well-known persons from the municipality of Chisinau. The most original bins will be used as model for making industrial containers and the city administration could purchase them later. The authors will receive money awards during the festivities that will be organised on the City Day. Lucia Culev hopes that the initiative will motivate the students to want to know the city’s problems and to engage in solving them.
