Chisinau students develop national values

The students of 12 Chisinau high schools took part in the contest “Bessarabian Values and Spirituality” that aimed to elucidate the problems experiences in the area between the rivers Prut and Nistru. The works were presented and results announced in a conference held at the Theoretical High School “B.P. Hasdeu”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The contest was open to tenth-twelfth graders. The participants devised slides with video elements and pictures about the problems, traditions, culture and specific features of the Bessarabian people. The pictures were classified into five categories: personalities in the shadow; settlements that define the national history; Bessarabia – Romanian land; popular traditions in the area between the Prut and Nistru, and the habitat in the area between the Prut and Nistru. “The objectives of the conference are to identify the students with intellectual aptitudes and interest in research projects in the area between the Prut and Nistru, to study the national values and to develop attitudes and respect for this area,” said the head of the assessment and conference organization committee Ala Birladeanu. The students were awarded diplomas of the first, second and third degrees.
