This year the streets in Chisinau will be again stopped up. The about 650,000,000 lei allocated for street repair do not allow extensively renovating the roads, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna said in Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The municipal authorities will try to cope with the available money. Ten streets might be fully repaired within a project to the value of 160 million lei, Veaceslav Tarna stated. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said amendments should be made to the legislation so that a larger part of the money allotted into the Road Fund be directed for street repair. He added that the streets should be fully repaired once in five or ten years. According to the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division, the period of using a road is determined according to the intensity of traffic. Veaceslav Tarna considers an exploitation term should not be necessarily indicated when designing a street.
