Chisinau street could be named Lech Kaczynski

The faction of the Liberal Democratic Party in the Chisinau Municipal Council suggests naming a street after the late Polish President Lech Kaczynski, Info-Prim Neo reports. Within a month, the City Hall will submit a relevant draft decision to the Council for approval. “Lech Kaczynski was Moldova's friend and a real hero of the Polish people. Poland, together with other countries, recognized the independence of our state and has always supported us morally and financially,” said councilor Ghenadie Dumanschi. The April 15 meeting of the Council commenced with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Smolensk plane crash that killed 96 people, including the Polish President and other senior officials.
