Seven firefighting vehicles this morning have extinguished a roaring fire that started at an expanded polystyrene factory located on Uzinelor St in Chisinau. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu said the fire broke out in a storehouse at about 9.30. The flames destroyed the raw material for making expanded polystyrene. The fire was put out shortly afterward. An investigation is under way. Specialists say the fire was probably caused by a faulty welding machine used by workers. No person was hurt.
