The State Road Administration signed a contract with the Austrian company Strabag AG for the repair of the Chisinau-Soroca national road. The value of the contract is €9.2 million, the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure announced, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The contract forms part of the Road Sector Program worked out with the support of the World Bank and other foreign donors. In order to implement the project, the European Investment Bank provided a loan that will be used to rehabilitate roads and monitor the repair works. The works will start this spring and will last for 18 months. The Austrian company was selected by a tender contest. According to the Ministry, the modernization of the given road segment will enable to reduce the operational transport costs incurred by road users, the number of traffic accidents and the time spent in traffic.
