The services of the Chisinau City Hall starting with July 29 will check every district of the capital city after two children were electrocuted, one of them mortally, in a park in Botanica district, IPN reports.
The checks will cover the irrigation systems, public lighting, electricity poles and connections, playgrounds and trees that can pose a risk of falling, deputy mayor Irina Gutnic stated during the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services of Chisinau. There will be a person in charge for each segment and a deadline for checks will be set.
Mayor general Ion Ceban said that the infrastructure of the capital city is rehabilitated and modernized to provide safety to the community. “I reiterate that we have thousands of projects that need to be monitored more strictly, especially since there are some who know how to mislead people by furnishing them with false information,” stated Ion Ceban. According to the mayor, these reports could be published quarterly so that the population or specialists have direct access to them.
Last week, two children, aged six and eleven, were electrocuted while playing in a park in Botanica district. The 11-year-old girl could not be saved.
