Chisinau demands to annul the movement notification system for students, their parents and teachers of schools teaching based on the Latin script in the Transnistrian region. In the meeting of the experts of the working groups on education held in Tiraspol, Chisinau proposed reviewing the implementation of the protocol decision on the functioning of schools teaching based on the Latin script that was signed at the end of 2017, IPN reports.
According to the Bureau of Reintegration, after having a discussion with principals of the schools teaching based on the Latin script and comparing the collected data, the Moldovan side in the negotiation process noted that some of the assumed commitments are not fulfilled by Tiraspol and demanded to immediately review the water, sewerage and heat tariffs so that these are similar to the tariffs of other schools working in the region.
On the initiative of Chisinau, there was discussed the free movement of students, their parents and teachers without a preliminary notification. The initiative was proposed by the chief negotiator of Chisinau, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic during the visit paid to Moldova by the OSCE Special Representative Franco Frattini in the middle of this September.
According to the initiative, the 1,500 students of the schools teaching based on the Latin script should be excluded from the political context so that they are preoccupied with education without applying the notification system in relation to them. Chisinau reiterated this initiative and underlined that the solving of this problem is delayed.
There were also discussed the applications and petitions that came from parents of students and teachers of the mentioned schools, who asked to intervene in different situations related to the transportation of goods and literature and to deal with particular incidents.
