The educational institutions in Chisinau have so far requested the organization of 684 groups with extended hours for primary school students. The process is ongoing and all requests are to be coordinated until September 15, Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports, stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

“In accordance with the Division’s order of August 1, 2024 on the organization of classes and groups with extended hours, 80 institutions out of the 131 we manage on Friday submitted requests for the coordination of work within these groups. Thus, on Friday we had requests for 684 groups with extended hours,” stated Andrei Pavaloi.

According to him, out of the total number of requests, 651 are for a program extended by three hours, while 33 – for a program extended by six hours. “By the date of 15, according to the order, we will coordinate all requests from educational institutions so that by next Monday we establish exactly how many groups with extended hours will operate starting this semester,” said the deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports.
