“All the streets in Chisinau are in need of repair and it is very difficult to choose only ten of them. We identified 29 streets that are in a deplorable condition. It is the mayor who will take a final decision,” said the head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. A week ago, the Chisinau Municipal Council decided to allocate more money for repairing the local streets. A sum of 100 million lei will be used this year for the purpose. In several days, the City Hall will announce tender contests to select the contractors that will restore ten streets in Chisinau. The local authorities hope to find investors to repair another ten streets. A separate investment project will be worked out for these works. According to Veaceslav Tarna, the streets Muncesti and Lunca Bacului and the bridge on Mihai Viteazul St are badly in need of repair. The central streets this year will be only stopped up. Currently, the road workers stop up the secondary streets in Chisinau and the access roads to suburbs. About 6,100 square meters of road will be asphalted after the piping system is repaired.
